Scroll through any roundup of Frisco's dining scene published this summer and you'll come away thinking the city is mid-transformation, restaurant by restaurant, right now. Tango Room. Commissary. Frenchie. Mastro's. Green Point. Claremont. Sixty Vines. The names pile up until they blur into one big "Frisco is having a moment" story.
They're not one story. They're three, running on three different timelines, and if you live here and are trying to figure out where you'll actually be eating between now and Thanksgiving, that distinction is the only part that matters.
What's Already Open, Not Coming Soon
Two of the biggest additions to Frisco's food and entertainment options this year aren't future tense at all.
Musume, the Japanese restaurant from Dallas-based Rock Libations Restaurant Group, opened at The Star in September 2025. It's been serving lunch, happy hour, and dinner out of its 6,000-square-foot space on the second floor of 3625 The Star Boulevard for nearly a year now, long enough that it's no longer news so much as a fixture.
Universal Kids Resort opened July 1, 2026, at the northeast corner of Panther Creek Parkway and the Dallas North Tollway. It's built for families with kids ages three to nine, with seven themed lands and an attached themed hotel that sleeps up to six guests. If you haven't been yet, it's not because it isn't open. It's because it's been open for less than two months and you haven't gotten around to it.
Same goes for the Dallas Pulse, North Texas' first women's professional volleyball team, which played its inaugural season at Comerica Center this year. That's a completed sentence, not an upcoming one.
What Actually Lands Between Now and December
This is the part worth paying attention to if you're planning a fall night out.
HALL Park, the 2.6-million-square-foot mixed-use development that's anchored Frisco office life since the mid-1990s, is getting two Dallas institutions this fall. Headington Companies, the group behind The Joule and Forty Five Ten in downtown Dallas, is bringing Commissary and Tango Room to 3101 Gaylord Parkway, ground-level retail beneath The Monarch apartments. It's Headington's first expansion outside downtown Dallas, and the timing puts both restaurants potentially open before the year is out.
Commissary is the harder one to categorize. It operates as a café, bakery, gelateria, espresso bar, and neighborhood market under one roof, and the Frisco location is being built as the brand's flagship, housing all of its bakery and wholesale production. Tango Room is the more intimate half of the pairing, a steakhouse known in Dallas for foie gras and ribeye au poivre, with private dining space planned for the Frisco build-out.
A few blocks away at 600 Gaylord Parkway, Muchacho Tex-Mex is also aiming for this fall, though it's arriving later than planned. Chef Omar Flores, fresh off opening Maroma in the Design District, is bringing his third Muchacho location to a space that Gloria's Latin Cuisine occupied longer than the build-out schedule accounted for. Construction slipped from a spring target into late summer or early fall as a result. It's a small detail, but it's the kind of thing that tells you more about how retail actually turns over in a fast-growing suburb than any press release does. Space doesn't sit empty and waiting. It gets vacated late, and everything downstream shifts.
So the honest fall 2026 list is two restaurants at HALL Park and one delayed Tex-Mex spot at Gaylord and 600. That's it. That's what's real this year.
What Won't Open Until 2027, and Some of It Not Until 2028
Here's where the conflation happens. Firefly Park, the development near the Prosper and Little Elm border, has landed its own marquee names: Frenchie, the all-day café and restaurant with a cocktail program built around a bottled freezer martini, and Second Rodeo Brewing. Both are targeting fall 2027, a full year past the HALL Park openings. Hotel Voeux, the boutique hotel meant to anchor Firefly Park with a Parisian-courtyard layout, doesn't even break ground until August 2026, this month, which tells you a fall 2027 restaurant timeline there is optimistic at best. As of the most recent leasing update, Firefly Park's phase-one retail sits at 41 percent leased with another 29 percent under letter of intent, meaning more than a quarter of the food and beverage tenants for that project haven't been named yet.
Fields West is further out still. The $800 million, 55-acre development off the Dallas North Tollway closed on a $425 million construction loan and is already under construction, but its first phase of restaurant openings isn't planned until late 2027, continuing into 2028. The name list reads like a wish list precisely because it is one at this stage: Mastro's Steakhouse making its first Dallas-Fort Worth appearance, Maman's first Texas location, Greg and Nik Katz's Claremont and Green Point Seafood & Oyster Bar, Front Burner Society's Mexican Sugar and Sixty Vines, and Culinary Dropout. All real commitments. None of them dinner reservations you can make this year, or next.

What's Actually on the Calendar This Season
Strip out the restaurant announcements and Frisco's fall calendar is already full of things you can plan around without waiting on anyone's construction schedule.
Frisco Oktoberfest returns to The Star on October 3. FC Dallas plays at Toyota Stadium through October, and the Frisco Roughriders are back at Riders Field for early-September games. The Frisco Fresh Market, at 9215 John W. Elliott Drive, hits its seasonal peak from September through November, with Texas pecans, pumpkins, and apple cider filling the vendor stalls alongside the market's usual lineup. None of it requires a reservation two years out.
The Practical Read
If you've been holding off on a night at HALL Park because you assumed "the new Frisco restaurants" were all still theoretical, they're not, at least not the ones there. Tango Room and Commissary are close enough to treat as real plans for this fall. Muchacho is close behind, once the Gaylord Parkway build-out clears its delay. Frenchie, Second Rodeo Brewing, Mastro's, and the rest of the Fields West and Firefly Park lineup are worth getting excited about, but they belong on a 2027 calendar, not a September one.
That gap between announcement and open door is also just a fact of how quickly this city adds square footage. Frisco isn't slowing down enough for every headline to resolve on the same clock, and residents who track the difference between "announced" and "open" tend to plan better weekends than the ones who don't.
